DISTRICLIMA's Forum Plant gets new "kidneys"

The best way (or at least a graphic one) of explaining the operation of an urban district heating and cooling network is by comparing it with a living organism where the pipes are the veins and arteries that make blood (hot or cold water carrying energy) reach the organs (the buildings connected to the network). It’s a complex organism governed by its brain (the control system) and kept in operation thanks to its powerful hearts (the production plants), and which, like every living being, is susceptible to diseases like cancer (corrosion of pipes) or arteriosclerosis (unforeseen obstructions, depositions and load losses).

Recently, to avoid any of these diseases, Districlima has gotten a “kidney”, a continuous filter in the cooling network that takes a part of the circulating water and filters it. When saturated, it self-cleans by counter flow and continues filtering.

For Districlima innovation and continuous improvement are not an option but rather the DNA of this organism.
